Terms of use
Last updated November 3, 2026.
By using Wavetrain or creating an account, you agree to these terms and to the community rules. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
River information is a starting point, not a guarantee
Flows are provisional USGS readings and can be wrong or late. Runnable ranges, run descriptions and hazards are drafts. Permit dates and rules are summaries of agency pages and can change; always confirm with the agency. Snowpack figures are provisional. Whitewater is dangerous: you are responsible for your own decisions on the river, including scouting, training, equipment and checking conditions. Nothing on Wavetrain replaces local knowledge or a conversation with a nearby outfitter.
Accounts
You must be 18 or older to create an account. Keep your password private, and use one account per person. You are responsible for what is posted from your account.
What you post
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give Wavetrain permission to show, store and format it on the site so others can see it. Only post things you have the right to share, including photos. Do not post other people's private information.
Gear, jobs, meetups and permit spots
Wavetrain only lists these posts. It is not a party to any sale, job, trip or cost-sharing arrangement, does not handle money or shipping, and cannot verify members, gear, employers or permits. Deal carefully and settle everything directly with the other person. Permit holders must follow their permit's rules; Wavetrain does not allow permit sales or transfers. Employers are responsible for following employment law.
Moderation
We may edit, hide or remove any content, and suspend or close any account, that breaks these terms or the community rules, or that we believe puts people at risk. You can ask us to review a decision at hello@thewavetrain.com.
No warranty
Wavetrain is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise the site will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or free of errors.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Wavetrain and the person who runs it are not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from your use of the site, from information on it, or from dealings with other members.

Wavetrain is an early build. Flow readings are USGS provisional data and may be revised. Runnable ranges and run details are drafts for paddlers to review. Permit dates and rules come from the agency pages linked on each permit and can change. Snowpack figures come from NRCS SNOTEL stations, are provisional, and are grouped into basins by watershed, so they may differ from official NRCS basin reports. Nothing here replaces scouting, local knowledge or a conversation with a nearby outfitter.
